How to Make Your Shakee Lures Snagless and Weedless |
|
Shakee lures have a tendency to hang up more often than an ordinary spinner bait or weedless jig. This can be greatly reduced by rigging your lure with a Hitch-Hiker and a plastic attractor tail. In the pictures shown here we have added a Hitch-Hiker coil (medium size) to the eye of a shakee lure. Attached to the coil is a split tail attractor that is made snag free by inserting the point of the hook into the trailer the same as you would rig a plastic worm weedless. This is really simple and it really works. We have fished this numerous times and it does not affect the hook ups on fish. An added bonus is that you get action from the trailer. This weedless arrangement can be used on many different lures. |
