Just like a “popeyed frog,” the Popeye Jig gets its name from the protruding eyes on each side of its head. Paint these “eyes” for a more life-like appearance. Popeye Jigs are usually dressed with bucktail and are very popular with saltwater fishermen along many parts of the eastern coast.
